The representative at the monitoring center can then notify the proper authorities and the person receives help in a timely manner. Although it is usually the elderly portrayed in these commercials, these kinds of home security units can be a life saver for others as well.
Medical Monitoring
Anyone, regardless of age, who has special medical conditions or who may be prone to falls can benefit from a medical monitoring system. Since many of these systems have a wide range, customers are even protected when they go outside, when gardening, for example. The customer also has the option to provide offender information ahead of time so that when the monitoring service notifies the police they are able to include pertinent information about the offender. This could be a lifesaving device for those who have escaped domestic violence situations or even for those who are still trapped in them.

These types of home security companion systems can make it much safer for anyone living alone, regardless of their medical history, age, or experience with domestic violence. By being able to merely press one button and come in contact with a monitoring service that can hear what is going on, customers can rest assured that police will be on their way immediately, even if they can’t get to a phone or are in immediate contact with an intruder.
