Awnings Have You Covered

from:

Decks and patios can be a beautiful extension of your home or they can be just another place to collect dirt, dust, and mold. If you’re one of the luck people who has a patio or deck, it’s time to revisit how you use the space and take full advantage of an incredible outdoor “room”.

Many people outfit their decks with beautiful furniture, decorative ornaments, and overflowing pots of colorful plants. They usually forget the one important home improvement tip that can make a huge difference in the space. Retractable deck awnings can transform the deck or patio into an area that is not only used when the weather is perfect, but they can be used when it is raining, cloudy, or extremely sunny.

Home improvement experts also know that retractable awnings can help protect the wood, furniture, plants, and other amenities in the area. You’ll find that awnings enable you to use your outdoor spaces more often – even in the sunniest of weather – because they shield your family and guests from the hot rays of the sun. Rain also won’t dampen an outdoor party if you have properly installed awnings. You have more control over the weather when you have awnings.

Retractable awnings are simple to install. They are available in canvas and aluminum depending on your preference. They come in a variety of colors and patterns to accentuate and complement your home’s outdoor colors. Awnings are available in electronically controlled motorized models or manual models. Depending on the location of your deck or patio, you may want a free-standing awning or they can be installed as an inconspicuous addition to your house.

With motorized awnings, you can open or close the awning with a remote control. You have the flexibility to sit in the sun or shade within seconds. You can also use your awnings to protect plants suffering from too much hot sun in humid, summer months.

Home improvement projects can be expensive, but with awnings you have more options. Some electric awnings cost thousands of dollars. But if you do your homework, you can find an awning to meet your needs for less. Look for installation of awnings that do not require vertical supports. Also, if you’re considering canvas awnings, they may fade over time due to the hot sun and rain so keep that in mind.

You can definitely improve the aesthetics of your home by adding an awning to your patio or deck. But more importantly, you’ll increase the amount of time you are able to spend enjoying the outdoor “rooms” of your home. Since you have control over the light, shade, sun, and rain that falls on your deck or patio, you have a lot more time to enjoy them.

Don’t assume that retractable awnings are out of your home improvement budget reach until you’ve done your homework. You’ll find affordable awnings that will increase the value of your property and give you many hours of outdoor entertaining fun. You’ll also find that awnings will increase the life of your outdoor furniture and other furnishings, saving you even more money in the long-term.

Enjoy every part of your home, including the outdoors. Home improvement projects just got more affordable with retractable awnings.

It's not exactly a lie. It could pop. Whatever. Inside, we head right to the patio umbrellas. They come in green, orange, and beige. Oh, and a striped one. I know we definitely don't want that one but can build a case in favor of any of the others.
